A large estate established in the second quarter of the 17th century with many successive renowned owners. The magnificent white-stone Znamenskaya church has been preserved. Baroque in style, it features statues of apostles and evangelists.

Ivanovskoe

Founded in the late 17th century, the estate consists of a main house with two wings, a theater (in ruins), a front yard fence with a gate from the 1820s, and the remains of a landscaped park on the bank of the Pakhra River. The three-storey main house is occupied by the Museum of the History of Vocational Educational and the left wing by a local history museum.

Manor D.I. Filippova

The country manor was founded by the famous baker Filippov at the beginning of the 20th century. The eclectic-style, two-storey main house was built presumably by the architect N. Eichenwald. Fragments of the park also have been preserved.

The estate was founded in the last quarter of the 18th century by statesmen M. Krechetnikov. An abandoned, crumbling two-storey main house remains. Built in a classical style by architect P. Nikitin or I. Starov, additional volumes were attached to the sides in the 1880s by architect N. Sultanov.

Ostafyevo

This was first the Vyazemsky’s estate, then the Sheremetev’s, but it is better known as the ‘Russian Parnassus’ museum which has been functioning since 1989. Pushkin, Zhukovsky, Karamzin (all three have granite monuments designed by N. Panov in the estate’s park), Griboyedov, and Gogal worked here. The main house (presumably built by I. Starov), a church, and a landscaped park with a pond have been preserved as part of the estate.

Shchapovo

Located on the patrimony of the Boyar V. Morozov, the estate is named after its most famous occupants — the Schapovs, whose descendants have done a considerable amount for its revival. The History of Shchapovo Estate Museum operates in the building (architect K. Terskoy, 1901–1902) formerly used for an agricultural school.

Voronovo

First the Vorontsov’s estate, then the Rostopchin’s, it is a rare example of an aristocratic residence in a Baroque style with an 'exotic' Dutch house situated in the park. The Voronovo sanatorium is currently located there.
