Information about the estate

Ostrov Estate .

In XVIth century Ostrov was a royal domain (belonged to Ivan The Terrible). Later in the history, the estate was ceded to Count Grigory Orlov, Catherine The Great's lover. The estate house has been lost in 1970s, but the real jewel of the estate is a tented Transfiguration Cathederal (1560s), constructed for Ivan The Terrible by a group of British and Pskov architects and rockshapers. Located just outside of Moscow Circle Road, Ostrov provides some of the most amazing sub0city views available.
