Information about the estate

info object

Bogoroditsk Estate .

The Estate was founded in the 1770's as an ancestral home for Catherine The Great's illegitimate son Count A.Bobrinsky, A rare example of a residence that developed into a small town. The main palace was restored (rebuilt) in the 1970's along with some other baroque buldings. The famous park, once a creation of A.T.Bolotov, famous Russian landscaper, has not survived the Second World War and recent improvements. The main palace is home to a small but very interesting museum.
