This famous estate of the Asakovs and Mamontovs is one of the most important and iconic centers of Russian culture. It was a creative workshop for dozens of great writers, actors, and artists. Over the years, the estate was visited by N. Gogol, I. Turgenev, I. Repin, V. Serov, and many other outstanding representatives of Russian culture.

The Trubetsky’s estate established in the second quarter of the 18th century has virtually disappeared. A church from the 1820s built in the Empire style, a driveway with two rows of linden and spruce trees, and the overgrown remains of a landscape park with a pond remain of the estate. The scenic estate was visited by the composers N. Rubinstein and P. Tchaikovsky, and the artists A. Vasnetsov, M. Nesterov, V. Kandinsky, and others.

The only estate museum in Moscow vicinity, representing the grandeur of the richest nobility of the empire. Picturesque and diverse park with a tremendous view over Moskva river, signature palace with an orangery on top of it. The museum presents the interiors and the collections that partly remain in the palace. A key element of Golytsins and, later, Yusipovs family property, Arkhangelskoe is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of empirial Russia.

The estate was owned by a famous Russian scientist Dmitry Mendeleev, a Russian chemist and inventor. He formulated the Periodic Law, created his own version of the periodic table of elements. Although most of the estate was destroyed in 1918-1919, one of the outbuildings is restored and serves as a museum. Mendeleev was a father-in-law of the famous Russian poeth Alexander Block, who visited Bovlovo number of times.

Borodino

The estate is located just on a border of the Borodino battlefield, where Russian Army fought Napoleonic Le Grande Armee in 1812. Before 1839, Borodino was a property of a wealthy but unachieving families, but was aquired by the Tsars later. The only historic building that survived the Soviet time and Nazi invasion, is the Church of Nativity, erected in 1690's. Rich interiors of the manor and the royal furniture were confiscated by Bolsheviks and partly preserved in Moscow museums. The house that currently occupies the spot of the manor, is a reconstuction.

The estate once belonged to M.A.Dostoyevsky, the great writer's father. Fyodor Dostoyevsky was born here and spend his childhood in the outbulding that is currently preserved and hosts a small museum.

The imposing manor of the famous Talyzins was established in the second half of the 18th century and built in a style of classicism presumably by architect M. Kazkov. The two-storey main house is in ruins and completely overgrown with bushes and trees. Among other remaining buildings is a landscaped linden park with a pond.

The only surviving building of the estate is the Church of Seraphim of Sarov, one of the most outstanding monuments of neo-Russian style in the Moscow region. In a poor condition in the present day, the church (still functioning) was built by Vladimir Suslov in 1910–1913, a famous architect and restorer from St. Petersburg.

well-preserved ensemble of estates founded at the end of the 18th century belonging to the Lazarev merchants. A classical style, one-storey, wooden main house with a mezzanine and two side wings is intact along with the remains of a large formal linden park. Nearby are a parish church (1797, classical style) and old factory buildings of the Fryanovskaya textile manufactory.
